I have just been set thinking lately, since Thursday is my rest day,it shall be
THINKING DAY!!!! A tad late in posting this up though :)
I was just thinking about myself as a Christian how it has been in my walk with God so far.
Having been a Christian in Hope of God Church for 6 years, I must say I have seen a lot, experienced a lot and grown loads too!
(Though there are definitely areas I still have to grow in)However, I must say that your Christian age is definitely not representative of your spiritual maturity. How many Christians are there who act as though they are New-
Bs? Or even worse still, Non-
Bs. I find it very sad as I see some of my friends fall away from God. The crux of the issue I have found in these cases is either the loss of faith in God due to weak foundations or being unhappy with the church.
For the former, we have to look into the foundations of being a Christian. Firstly when you say the sinner’s prayer, you are acknowledging that you are a sinner and you express your desire to accept God as your Lord and Saviour. Do you really remember or comprehend the actual meaning of these words when you are uttering them or have uttered them?
Haha I believe that most people are a bit blur when they say the prayer so they don't really investigate the power of the words uttered.
When you acknowledge that you are a sinner, you are admitting that you are imperfect. Accepting Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, means giving the control of your life to him. I remember in a follow up I did with a new believer. We asked him if he believes that ‘God knows everything that has happened, happening or is going to happen. He said yes. Next, we asked him if he would be able to trust God and allow him the control of his life. After a thoughtful look, he said ‘Yes’. I believe that this truth is something which we need to constantly revise throughout our Christian walk. There would be down times, where we feel that God is not there or that he
doesn’t care. In these times, we need to remind ourselves that he has the best plan for us, plans to prosper us and give us a hope.
Let’s allow him to take the reins of our life!!!
Amen.
Will complete my thoughts another day
